The University of Texas University Orchestra (UTUO) is the university's campus-wide orchestra, drawing its membership from throughout the university community. Led by graduate students in orchestral conducting, the UTUO welcomes all UT Austin undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty, staff and affiliates to audition. UTUO performs two concerts each semester that reflect a wide and exciting range of symphonic literature.

ALL university students are eligible to audition for University Orchestra for all standard orchestral instruments (except piano). Auditions are in both Fall and Spring semesters. Students admitted in Fall do not re-audition in Spring.

Students may choose to register for the course either before or after the audition. In the event a student is not selected, they can drop the course credit according to standard university policy. Registering for the course does not guarantee admission.
