Dear Butler School Community:
To join the public health effort against COVID-19, the Butler School will be canceling all public performances from March 23 to the end of the Spring semester and our building will be closed to the public for the foreseeable future. We will send information regarding refunds to patrons of ticketed events in the next two weeks. Thank you for your patience on this – our current priority is getting students set up successfully to transition to remote classes and lessons after Spring Break.
We have received questions from some of our community regarding how they can help our students during this time of crisis. Here are some ways you can still support our music community during this time:
- Consider not requesting a refund for a canceled event if that makes sense for you and your budget. The arts community worldwide is financially suffering because of the necessary measures of social distancing, and we are no different. We understand this is a complicated individual decision, but wanted to make the suggestion for those asking how they can help.
- Consider making a small donation to the Butler School in any area of study or need.
Thank you so much for your support of our students, our faculty, and our entire artistic community. It is normally a wonderful thing that music brings people together, and we are grieving the loss of the opportunity to do that during this crisis. Please stay safe and healthy this Spring!
