Ensemble Auditions

Most ensembles are open to any student in the university, subject to a successful audition.

Auditions for strings, choir, opera and jazz took place in August for the entire academic year. 


Brass, Woodwinds, & Percussion

(for ensembles in rotation) 

New Music Ensemble (M W F 12-2pm)
Opera Orchestra (M W F 12-2pm during productions)
Symphony Orchestra  (M W F 12-2pm)
Wind Ensemble (M W F 12-2pm)
Wind Symphony (M W F 2-4pm)

Requirements

All music majors auditioning for ensembles are required to take the rotation audition. Non-majors also have the option of taking the rotation audition, however they are not required to. 

All auditions will take place in the Band Hall 2.114 unless otherwise notated.

Students are required to play the excerpts for your instruments, linked in the schedule below.

Clarinet 12-2:30pm

 Symphony Band

Symphony Band only auditions will take place via video submission. Students should prepare and record one excerpt of their choice from the Brass, Wind & Percussion audition excerpts above. Register and submit your audition video no later than Wednesday, January 17th at 11:59 pm.
