A portrait of Damien Sneed

We are pleased to welcome multi-genre recording artist and instrumentalist Damien Sneed. Sneed will spend a week in residency at The University of Texas at Austin and Huston-Tillotson University. He will give a lecture-recital detailing his work in the music industry as an activist — from opera, to jazz, R&B, and gospel. The lecture will be followed by a conversation with ethnomusicologist and Harrington Faculty Fellow Charrise Barron, and a Q&A with questions from the audience.

Sneed is an award-winning artist who excels in classical, gospel, jazz, and contemporary music. He's a a pianist, vocalist, organist, composer, conductor, arranger, producer, and arts educator whose work spans multiple genres.
