Teaching Assistant in Jazz Studies
Jason Grant is a trumpet player and educator currently based in Austin, TX. While maintaining a busy schedule as a freelance musician in the Central Texas region, he also serves as a lessons teacher and masterclass instructor at Round Rock High School in Round Rock, TX. With over 15 years of experience, Jason started playing trumpet at the age of 11 and began performing professionally around age 16 in his hometown of San Antonio, TX. He served for two years in the United States Army Band and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Jazz Performance at the University of Texas at Austin, Jason is a newly assigned TA for the Jazz Studies program, and is devoted to helping the next generation of musicians achieve their goals.
