After emerging from COVID-induced hibernation, the UT Trombone Choir staged several summer Austin performances: July 9th on the Arts on Alexander Concert Series (Redeemer Presbyterian Church, Austin), and July 11th at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church.
On July 12th, they headed to Georgia to present a concert and masterclass at Trinity Christian Music Arts Academy Auditorium in Sharpsburg (suburban Atlanta). The trip highlights included two spotlight performances at the International Trombone Festival at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. The first ITF performance featured the choir with UT alum Brian Hecht, a newly appointed trombonist with the Dallas Symphony. The week concluded with the group performing a 50-minute program that included premieres of newly commissioned works by Jack Wilds (UT alum) and LA-based film score composer John Dickson.
