Zed, the quartet led by Associate Professor of Saxophone and Director of Undergraduate Studies, Stephen Page, took the Silver Medal at the esteemed Fischoff Chamber Music Competition! Zed competed against 60 groups representing 34 nations, playing repertoire featuring compositions by Emma O’Halloran, Viet Cuong, Martin Bresnick, Jun Nagao, Eugene Bozza, and Claude Debussy (in a member's arrangement).

With the announcement of the finalists, Stephen Page arranged last-minute (literally) travel plans, boarding a flight to Indianapolis the following morning. He then embarked on a 2.5-hour drive to the Notre Dame campus, arriving just moments before the winners' declaration. Witnessing their celebration was a testament to his commitment and the ultimate show of support to the quartet.

Moreover, Zed clinched 2nd prize at the NOLA Chamberfest Competition, secured a finalist spot at the Coltman Competition (where Connor, a member, claimed Gold with his Reed Quintet), premiered Viet Cuong’s Quartet Concerto with Jerry Junkin and the Butler wind ensemble, earned an invitation to perform and record at KMFA, performed at the North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference, and showcased their talent extensively locally.
