About the Artist

Originally from Mexico City, Florido studied Percussion at the UNAM Faculty of Music. His eclecticism has led him to work in different genres from contemporary music, free improvisation, Middle Eastern folk music, rock and jazz, working with ensembles such as Fiquet and Xin DUO. He has performed at contemporary and popular music festivals such as Festival Differential 2023 at CENART,Northwestern University New Music Conference (NUNC!) in Chicago Illinois, 21 st Century Guitar in Lisbon Portugal, Casa del Lago UNAM, Winter Composer Festival line upon line percussion in Austin Texas among others. He is currently working on his project Hybrid Resonances: Experimental Percussion and Sound Theater where he exposes the new movement of experimental music through hybridization of objects, moving away from the traditional roll of the orchestral percussionist (project supported by the Creation System of the Government of Mexico).
