Karen Houghton and Janet Nye are two of the most successful middle and high school private horn teachers in the Dallas area. They have teamed up and developed a clinic aimed at correctly starting young horn students and mentoring them through their high school years. These two women are very smart, very funny and very passionate about teaching! Professor Patrick Hughes has invited this duo to the Butler School of Music to present their class, complete with mouthpiece buzzing and handouts for all participants.
This clinic will be of interest to horn players and teachers, but present and future Middle and High School band directors take note: this is especially for YOU! College Music Education curriculums are able to devote only a limited amount of time to teaching the horn, and this clinic is a fantastic opportunity for students to learn from two proven experts in the field.
