Arcade: Music from Video Games

Colorful, contemporary arrangements of popular video game music from Square Enix and Nintendo will be performed by the Less Than <10 team, as well as the premiere of a new work by percussionist and composer Jordan Walsh. The core group will be performing its own rendition of Jason Trueting’s “September.”


Canadian violinist Christopher Whitley is an engaging and versatile performer. From Baroque to electronic music, he is committed to exploring and performing music of all styles.

Small Batch is an intimate new music concert series held in the Recording Studio's Live Room, curated by Russell Podgorsek and Andrew Stoltz. Each season includes one student-driven "batch" of performances chosen from submitted proposals. The series was created in the 2019-20 school year. The Butler School will be streaming previously recorded performances during the pandemic for all to enjoy.

Greater Than >10 Highlights: Salt and Syllis

Highlighting Less Than <10’s collaborators and friends in the Austin music community, join us for movements of central-Texas renowned harpist and composer Vincent Pierce’s “Syllis” for wind octet, harp, and marimba. Composer and audio engineer of Blank House Media Ian Whillock will also be joining us for a viewing of his piece for electronics and video “Salt Creek Recomposed.”


Presented by the Texas Aging and Longevity Center, an hour of music and conversation about how composers’ music evolved with the passage of time, and how their brains - and the brains of listeners - change with aging.
