Weizhen Lai

Weizhen Lai won first prize in the China Grand Final of Melbourne International Youth Piano Competition in 2020. During her studies at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music, under the guidance of Xiaoqiang Wang, she was awarded numerous scholarships. She continued her study at the Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) Conservatory of Music in Indonesia, under the guidance of Nadya Janitra. Weizhen performed the Beethoven Third Piano Concerto after winning the UPH concerto competition and at UPH she held the highest piano jury score. She represented the UPH in a performance at the Russian Embassy in Indonesia and graduated summa cum laude. In 2021 she began studies at the Lynn University Conservatory of Music in Boca Raton, Florida, is a member of the studio of Roberta Rust, and was a finalist in the 2021 Lynn Concerto Competition. In 2023, she was the piano recipient of National Society of Arts and Letters scholarship award. Recently, she began studies at the Butler School of Music- University of Texas at Austin, studying with Dr. Colette Valentine.
