Phaedra White Abbott

Phaedra White Abbott, originally from Tallahassee, FL, has been an Austin resident since 2001, and has over 20 years of employment at The University of Texas at Austin. She received her undergraduate degree in music education from Louisiana State University, where she was principal bass clarinetist of the LSU Wind Ensemble and clarinet section leader for the LSU Tiger Marching Band. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity. In addition, she also served as the head librarian for the band department.

Phaedra received her master’s degree in college student personnel from Loyola University Chicago. She has spent her entire professional career working with college and post-graduate students and loves being a part of the higher education experience.

An exercise aficionado, Phaedra enjoys doing the 10-mile hike around Lady Bird Lake once a week. In her free time, she also enjoys college football, traveling, shopping, reading, and spending time with her family.
