Student Services Coordinator

Garrett Reebenacker is a percussionist and former band director from the Houston area, and is excited to be a part of the operations team for the Butler School of Music as the Student Services Coordinator. Driven by service to others, he takes great interest in designing and improving systems to better accommodate the community, and help others find success as they see it.

Previously, Garrett has been a band director in Conroe Independent School District, with a primary focus on beginner percussionists. Prior to that, he was the percussion director for Plainview Independent School District. Additionally, Garrett has a great appreciation for marching percussion, and has worked with several successful percussion sections across Texas.

Garrett earned his Bachelors in Music Education from Sam Houston State University, where he studied under Dr. John Lane, Dr. Matthew McInturf, and Dr. Jacob Sustaita. While in attendance, he marched with Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps, and was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Garrett enjoys disc golf in his free time, which is wonderful for being in Austin. Garrett additionally enjoys table top games, cooperative video games, is an avid podcast listener, and caretaker to his sweet kitty, Mako.
