Elizabeth Sweet-Breu (also known as Eli Sweet-Breu) is a first year doctoral student of musicology at The University of Texas at Austin. Their research interests include film music, particularly in horror and science fiction (English and French language) film, twentieth-century opera, musical theater, gender and sexuality studies, and the places these subjects intersect. They are a TA in the Butler School of Music. Elizabeth earned their B.M. in music education at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 2021 and their M.M. in horn performance at WMU in 2023. 
 

Outside of their research, Eli enjoys watching horror movies, playing video games (mainly farming and life sims), reading science fiction and horror novels, and hanging out with their spouse, Levi, and their bird, Squash.
