Biography
Technical Sgt. Chris McGinty is a euphoniumist with the Ceremonial Brass, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. A native of Plains, Texas, his Air Force career began in 2019.
Sergeant McGinty completed his Bachelor of Music Education degree under the guidance of Dr. Kevin Wass at Texas Tech University. He then went on to earn his Master of Music degree from the University of North Texas, where he studied with Dr. Brian L. Bowman. Sergeant McGinty is currently in the latter stages of his doctoral studies under the supervision of David Childs.
As part of The U.S. Air Force Band, the Ceremonial Brass’ mission is to HONOR those who have served, INSPIRE American citizens to heightened patriotism and service, and CONNECT with the global community on behalf of the U.S. Air Force and the United States. The excellence demonstrated by the Ceremonial Brass reflects the excellence displayed by all Airmen stationed worldwide, whose selfless service and sacrifices ensure the freedoms enjoyed by citizens of the United States of America.
Sergeant McGinty is a founding member of the North Texas Euphonium Quartet, one of the most active young chamber ensembles in the country. This ensemble maintains an active performance schedule and has appeared at numerous music conferences and universities throughout the United States, including the Eastman School of Music, the International Tuba Euphonium Conference, The United States Army Band’s Tuba-Euphonium Workshop, and the University of Tennessee, among others.
