2025 Winter Break Construction

During winter break of 2025, The University of Texas at Austin is doing major construction to improve accessible parking, pathways, and building entry around the Fine Arts complex. Read below for information about the portions of the project that impact the Butler School of Music. 

Due to the nature of construction, the listed dates are projected timeframes and are subject to change.  We will update this page with the most up-to-date information available. 

Trinity Street
December 15–January 10

Portions of Trinity St. and the attached sidewalk will be under construction throughout the summer. 

What you need to know

  • The street will be open to all forms of traffic throughout the duration of construction. 
  • Parking along Trinity St. will be heavily impacted.  
  • F20 permit holders should plan to park in the San Jacinto Parking Garage or the F20 lot. 
  • The construction project will provide signage for foot traffic between MRH and  the opposite side of Trinity Street.

West Entrance
Winter Break December 15 – January 10

Entrance Closed for Construction

  • Closest entrance to our building from the San Jacinto Parking Garage. 
  • The sidewalk and ramps will be replaced for a smoother, flatter entry into the building. 
  • The bike racks nearby will be removed and used as a staging area for construction. 
  • While this area is under construction, a temporary ramp will be installed at the Southwest entrance (see map.)

Northeast Entrance
WinTER brEAK dECEMBER 15 – january 10

Entrance Closed for Construction 

  • This is the entrance to the music building that faces the Law School. 
  • The sidewalk will be widened and the entrance will be made ADA-accessible. 
  • Accessible parking spaces will be added on Trinity Street convenient to this entrance.
