Music Director, Longhorn Singers

Jenn Goodner is honored to serve as director of the Longhorn Singers, a group with a long-standing tradition and reputation at The University of Texas at Austin. A resident of Austin for more than twenty years, she also serves as artistic director of Tapestry Singers—Austin’s Women’s Chorus—and is on faculty with The J² Method, a newly formed performing arts studio dedicated to preparing young artists for the next steps in their journey.

Jenn began her teaching career at Kingwood High School, where her choirs prepared for prestigious performances, including an appearance at The White House. She then taught at Deerpark Middle School in Round Rock ISD, where she was named teacher of the year, before joining the choral faculty at Westlake High School in Eanes ISD (2006–2021). At Westlake, she helped grow the choir program from 175 to more than 500 students, directing award-winning ensembles and annual musicals while mentoring student teachers.

She has also served as a section leader for the Texas All-State Women’s Choir, directed multiple region treble choirs, and taught on the faculties of the University of Houston Music Camp and The University of Texas Longhorn Music Camp. Through these experiences, Jenn has guided singers in developing skills in ensemble leadership, audition preparation, and musical theatre performance.

Passionate about building community through music, Jenn is committed to helping students find the right artistic path and rise with confidence into their unique purpose. She and her husband, Mark, enjoy life in Austin with their youngest son, Graham, a dedicated singer and theatre student. Their daughter Tylar serves as a chaplain in Norman, Oklahoma with her husband, Spencer, and their son Wilkes is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre at Otterbein University in Ohio. Together, they share a family love of music, the arts, and one another.
