The University of Texas Jazz Orchestra Heads to Japan for 2025 Tour

The University of Texas Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Professor Diego Rivera, Director of Jazz Studies at the Butler School of Music, is set to embark on an exciting international tour of Japan from May 20–31, 2025.  This summer, they bring their signature blend of blues, swing, soul, and refined ensemble work to audiences in Japan, with performances scheduled at high schools, universities, and prominent jazz clubs.

The 2025 Japan Tour Itinerary Includes:

  • May 23: Senzoku College of Music

  • May 24: "Always" Jazz Club – Osaka

  • May 26: Showa University of Music

  • May 27: Kunitachi College of Music

  • May 28: Akasaka “B-flat” Club – Tokyo

  • May 29–30: Tomisato High School
