The innovative chamber ensemble Triple Cortado has been making headlines for its daring musical approach and unconventional performances. Recently featured in a New York Times article, the trio has also been generating buzz across music blogs and social media for their genre-defying style and adventurous spirit.
Triple Cortado is a collaboration between Hudson, trombonist Achilles Liarmakopoulos, and pianist Ahmed Alom. With trumpet, trombone, and piano , a rarely seen combination in chamber music, the group has carved out a unique space in the classical world. Their arrangements stretch the boundaries of the genre, offering a fresh and bold sound that challenges tradition.

Their performances are as unconventional as their instrumentation. One recent appearance at the Moab Music Festival took them to the remote canyons of Utah, where some concerts require audiences to raft down rivers to reach the venues. With climate change making it increasingly difficult to transport grand pianos to these rugged locations, Triple Cortado’s performance and the behind-the-scenes effort became the focus of the New York Times feature.
Fortunately, Austinites won't have to brave whitewater rapids, scale cliffs, or contend with desert wildlife to hear the trio live. Triple Cortado will be performing in Austin at the Butler School of Music on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.
