Butler School of Music Students Win Big at NATS Musical Theatre Auditions

March 29, 2024, Montgomery, TX – The Butler School of Music is celebrating the outstanding achievements of its voice students at the Greater Houston National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Musical Theatre auditions, held Saturday, March 29, 2024, at Lone Star College Montgomery.

Among the awardees, Dominique Sharifi was named the winner of the Upper College Treble category, while in the Lower College Treble category, Janae Johnson took first place.

In the TBB (Tenor, Bass, Baritone) category, Colin Tuohy earned the top spot, while the Lower Treble category saw fierce competition, with Bella Thornton and Finola Quinn sharing second place honors.

Additionally, Frida Hernandez was recognized as a semifinalist and participated in a masterclass.

All of these exceptional students study under the guidance of Butler School of Music faculty members Leah Crocetto, Mikhail Smigelski, and Steven Brennfleck, with James Maverick accompanying on the piano.

These impressive achievements reflect the dedication and hard work of both the students and their instructors.
