About the Artists
Marek Pasieczny

composer and guitarist Mark Pasieczny holds three master's degrees in music from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, UK (for composition and performance with distinction) and “Karol Lipinski” Academy of Music in Wroclaw, Poland (for performance with distinction). Premieres of his works have been performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Nowy Jork (2006, 2014), Peabody Conservatory, Baltimore, USA (2012), Conservatoire National de Strasbourg, France (2011), He Luting Hall, Shanghai, China (2008), BBC Scotland, UK (2007), Royal Albert Hall, London, UK (2004), W. Lutosławski’s Hall, Warsaw (2003)and Austin Independent School District Performing Arts Center, Austin, TX (2025). Pasieczny has composed for and collaborated with such musicians as Pat Metheny (on the album Upojenie), Anna Maria Jopek, Odair and Clarice Assad, David Russell, Roland Dyens, Carlo Domeniconi, Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Ana Vidovic, Mateusz Kowalski, Thomas Burritt, Bion Tsang and many others. Pasieczny appeares on over 45 albums. Pasieczny’s music has been also used for ballet (Taiwan) and film-documentaries (Germany, USA). The 2025 album Slavic Sessions with Pasieczny’s Twelve Polish Impressions has been submitted for a GRAMMY® Award.
Thomas Burritt

Thomas Burritt received degrees from Ithaca College School of Music, Kent State University, and Northwestern University. Active in the creation and performance of new music, Burritt has built a reputation as a percussion soloist and a concert marimbist. He has performed regularly at the Leigh Howard Stevens International Marimba Seminar and was a featured faculty performer at the 2007 and 2009 Zeltsman Marimba Festival. In April 2004 Burritt performed at Carnegie Hall as member of the Hammers and Sticks Ensemble. Later the same year the ensemble released a CD on the Innova label featuring works by Steven Mackey, Zhou Long, Alvin Singleton, Alex Shapiro, Joseph Harchanko and Belinda Reynolds. As Percussion Soloist Burritt has performed percussion concertos by Steve Mackey, Joseph Schwantner, Michael Dougherty, David Maslanka John Mackey, and James MacMillan. He has recorded for guitarist Eric Johnson and recording artist David Byrne, and has two solo recordings: All Times Identical—New American Music for Marimba, and Groundlines. In 2009, Burritt was nominated for a Grammy for his performances on Conspirare in Concert. In 2012, Burritt was cited as one of “The most influential Music Professors on Twitter.”
