About the Artists
Gregory Eaton

Gregory Eaton is lecturer in organ and harpsichord of the Butler School of Music, The University of Texas at Austin, and organist/choirmaster of All Saints’ Episcopal Church, in Austin. He also serves as secretary of the board for La Follia Austin Baroque Orchestra. From 2016 to 2024, he was president of the board for Ensemble VIII. Prior to moving to Texas, he was director of music at St. Ann & the Holy Trinity, Brooklyn, from 1993 to 2014, and lecturer in church music at the General Theological Seminary from 1984 to 2010. He also served at both Trinity Church and Church of the Epiphany in New York. While at St. Ann’s, Gregory founded a weekly recital series, on which he played over 600 concerts between 1999 and 2014. He was also a founding member of Chelsea Winds recorder ensemble, and plays in the Austin Recorder Quartet. Gregory has been very involved in the American Guild of Organists, having served as dean of both the Booklyn and Austin chapters, and as district convener for Central Texas.
Chris Tran

Chris Tran is Co-Director of the University of Texas University Orchestra, Graduate Teaching Assistant for the University of Texas Orchestras, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Orchestral Conducting with Farkhad Khudyev at the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Tran has been an invited conductor at several masterclasses and workshops in Boulder, Los Angeles, Eugene, St. Andrews (Scotland), as well as the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music with Cristian Măcelaru, Thomas Sleeper, and Leonard Slatkin, and the International Conducting Workshop and Festival with the late Larry Rachleff and Donald Schleicher. He has also worked with conductors Neil Thomson, Jeff Grogan, and Sian Edwards. Mr. Tran earned a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Colorado Boulder with Gary Lewis, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Southern Methodist University. His conducting mentors include Nicholas Carthy and Paul Phillips. He studied violin with Charles Wetherbee, former concertmaster of the Boulder Philharmonic, and Diane Kitzman, former Principal Violin of the Dallas Symphony.
Joseph Seth Zamora

From rural Tularosa, New Mexico, Joseph Seth Zamora is a doctoral candidate in piano performance and a teaching assistant in collaborative piano at The University of Texas at Austin. Zamora currently manages Zamora Piano Studio in Far West Austin and is the current pianist/organist at Northwest Hills United Methodist Church. He holds a bachelor of arts in Ppano performance from New Mexico State University and a master of music in piano performance from The University of Texas at Austin. Seth has had an active musical career throughout New Mexico and Texas, as a performer, collaborator, teacher, freelancer, and composer. His recent performing endeavors includes a state-wide tour in New Mexico, consisting of lecture recitals contextualizing works from all major eras of music and presenting them so all audiences can engage with classical music. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, exploring new restaurants in Austin, composing, and playing Dungeons and Dragons!
J.D. Burnett

Dr. J.D. Burnett enjoys a varied career as a conductor, singer, and teacher. In the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas, he serves as director of choral activities, conducts the UT Concert Chorale, and teaches courses in graduate choral conducting and literature. Additionally, he is the founding Artistic Director of Kinnara, the premier professional chamber choir in Atlanta, Georgia. In March 2021, he was named artistic director of Orpheus Chamber Singers in Dallas, and assumed the role on January 1, 2022. Formerly, he was associate professor of music and associate director of choral activities at the University of Georgia Hugh Hodgson School of Music. He has served as assistant director of the Dallas Symphony Chorus, conductor of the New Jersey Youth Chorus Young Men’s Ensemble, associate conductor of the Masterwork Chorus of New Jersey, and acting director of choral activities at Montclair State University.
