About the Artist

Award-winning pianist Alexandre Dossin is considered by Martha Argerich an “extraordinary musician” and by international critics a “phenomenon,” “a master of contrasts.” He is a prize-winner in several international piano competitions, including First Prize and the Special Prize in the 2003 Martha Argerich International Piano Competition. A graduate from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Russia and The University of Texas at Austin, a Naxos recording artist and an editor for Schirmer/Hal Leonard, Dossin keeps an active performing, recording and teaching career.  Dossin is professor of piano and chair of piano at the University of Oregon School of Music. Dossin is the vice president of the American Liszt Society, the president of the Oregon chapter of the American Liszt Society and is one of the recipients of the prestigious Faculty Fund for Excellence at the University of Oregon.
