Recital & Master Class: Jeremy Lewis, tuba and euphonium

Jeremy Lewis teaches applied lessons to all tuba and euphonium majors at West Texas A&M University, performs as tubist with the WT Faculty Brass Quintet, leads the WTAMU Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, coaches small ensembles, teaches weekly tuba-euphonium studio classes, and is the principal tubist with the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra.

Before WT, Jeremy worked as a private teacher and clinician in North Texas. He earned degrees from Texas Christian University, Indiana University, and Texas Tech University. Jeremy has performed with ensembles such as the Lafayette Philharmonic, the East Texas Symphony, and Midland-Odessa Symphony Orchestras. Additionally, Jeremy was a member of the Civic and Quintessence Brass Quintets.

Jeremy has been successful as a soloist making appearances at venues throughout the world. Recent solo performances include Oklahoma City, OK; Stillwater, OK; Indiana, PA, Huntington, WV, Athens, OH, and Ft. Worth, TX. He has performed and/or presented during the 2016 International Tuba-Euphonium Conference in Knoxville, TN, ITEC 2014 Bloomington, Regional Tuba-Euphonium Conferences throughout the country. Recent presentations include ITEC 2016, the Texas Bandmasters' Association, and the Texas Music Educator's Association.

As a competitor, Jeremy placed second in the 2006 International Women’s Brass Conference Tuba Competition. Jeremy also placed second in the 2003 Regional Tuba and Euphonium Conference held in Fort Worth, Texas. He was also a semifinalist in the 2004 Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival and the 2004 International Tuba and Euphonium Conference Artist Tuba Competition.
