String Project Instructor in Violin
ABOUT
Suhyun Lim is a Korean-born violinist and educator currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in violin performance at The University of Texas at Austin, where she studies with Daniel Ching. She previously earned her master’s degree from the Butler School of Music and holds bachelor’s degrees in violin performance from Yonsei University in Korea.
As an orchestral musician, Suhyun serves as assistant concertmaster of the Central Texas Philharmonic Orchestra. She is actively pursuing a career as an orchestral violinist and performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician. Her repertoire spans a broad range of styles, and she enjoys collaborating with musicians in diverse performance settings.
Suhyun is dedicated to music education and teaches young string musicians through the String Project at The University of Texas at Austin. She is passionate about helping students build strong technical foundations while developing confidence, musical curiosity, and a genuine love for music. Her teaching focuses on creating a supportive environment in which students can grow as musicians and develop their own musical voices.
Suhyun is committed to continued artistic growth as a performer and educator and to sharing her passion for music with audiences and the next generation of musicians.
