ABOUT

Stevie Dugdale, a native of southwest Missouri, is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in choral conducting. He holds both a Master of Music in choral conducting and a Bachelor of Music in choral music education from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He is here in Austin with his wife and three children.

While in Utah, Dugdale co-founded the Mountain West Voices, a youth barbershop chorus, which toured and competed in competitions across the United States, winning multiple awards. Additionally, he directed the Utah Valley Skyline Chorus, the Mountain Jubilee Chorus, and has consistently served as the music director in various congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout his time at BYU, Dugdale was assistant conductor of the BYU Singers, Men’s Chorus, Concert Choir, and University Chorale. In 2023, Dugdale was an interim conductor of the BYU Women's Chorus and traveled with the choir to Germany for participation in European choral festivals.


Dugdale has sung professionally for over a decade in a variety of groups and endeavors, most recently as tenor soloist with the Conspirare Symphonic Choir's performance of Rachmaninoff's All Night Vigil and in the Victoria Bach Festival choir's performance of Bach's B Minor Mass. He is a founding member of the early-music ensemble Sound of Ages where he has consistently performed as a soloist and choir member including at ACDA national and regional conferences, Carnegie Hall, and their premiere album First Light. In 2023, he sang Penderecki's Credo and Vaughan William's A Sea Symphony with the Oregon Bach Festival Chorus in Eugene, Oregon. He was also a member of Brevitas, recording several albums and tours including performances of Talbot’s Path of Miracles.  Additionally, Dugdale loves teaching voice and has maintained a consistent and successful voice studio for 15 years.
