Jason is a versatile violist with a dynamic artistic voice and an impressive range of international performance experience. He holds the distinction of being the youngest violist in history to present a debut recital at the Taiwan National Concert Hall to a sold-out audience. A prize winner in Taiwan’s national competitions, Jason has performed as a soloist with the Idyllwild Arts Academy Orchestra and the Austin Civic Orchestra. He has received top scholarships and fellowships from Idyllwild Arts Academy, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory, Tianjin Juilliard, and The University of Texas at Austin. A Juilliard alumnus and current doctoral candidate at UT Austin under Wilhelm Magner and Roger Myers, Jason is also a teaching assistant. He began studying viola at age nine.
A passionate chamber musician, Jason has participated in the inaugural class of the International Chamber Festival at the Tianjin Juilliard School, the Music Academy of the West, and the String Quartet Seminar. He has collaborated with prominent artists and ensembles including Donald McInnes, Richard O’Neill, Nobuko Imai, and the Juilliard, Takács, Miro, and Shanghai String Quartets. Jason is currently competing in the Concours de Genève and the Hindemith International Viola Competition.
