ABOUT

Sadie Murray is a passionate clarinetist that is currently pursuing her master's degree in clarinet performance as the studio teaching assistant, studying under professor Jonathan Gunn. She received a bachelor of music degree in clarinet performance at Florida State University, studying with Dr. Deborah Bish and professor Jonathan Holden.

Sadie has enjoyed many performance opportunities including orchestral, solo, and chamber. Her performance experiences extend internationally, having studied at the Belgian Clarinet Academy, where she performed in recital and collaborated with distinguished clarinetists from around the world.  In her time at Florida State, Sadie was active with the Javacya Arts Conservatory Orchestra, an organization dedicated to community outreach and mentorship for young musicians. Through Javacya, she has performed in diverse settings that combine her passion of teaching as well as playing the clarinet.

In addition to her performing career, Sadie maintains a thriving private studio of middle and high school students in the Austin area. Sadie's students consistently place in region and area bands, as well as receiving top honors at solo and ensemble contests. She is also a highly sought-after teacher, frequently invited to lead masterclasses for middle and high school clarinet sections throughout Austin and the surrounding areas.
