String Project Program Coordinator

Rebecca Braun is the String Project Program Coordinator at the University of Texas at Austin and holds degrees from The Juilliard School and Boston Conservatory in vocal performance and opera performance, respectively. She has dedicated much of her professional career to working in higher education. Prior to coming to the University of Texas at Austin, Rebecca served as the Assistant to the Director of the Ball State University School of Music in Muncie, Indiana where she oversaw recruitment, outreach, and alumni activities. In this role, she secured an Arts Midwest Grant in collaboration with the Chicago-based ensemble Fifth House Ensemble which brought a series of performances to the local public schools. She also oversaw large-scale outreach concerts, providing opportunities for university students to perform in some of the most well-renowned concert venues in the state of Indiana. While at Ball State University, she also served as the Coordinator of Music Promotional Services, overseeing the scheduling and marketing of nearly 300 annual performances and events. Rebecca began her career as the Performance Activities Coordinator at The Juilliard Pre-College Division where she oversaw concert scheduling and worked closely with the vocal arts and brass departments.

Rebecca continues to sing and recently performed in the chorus for Austin Opera’s 2023-24 season as well as in the Chorus Austin Symphonic Choir. She has sung with Longwood Opera, Lake George Opera (now Opera Saratoga), Opera New Jersey, Aspen Opera Theater, Boston Lyric Opera, and Opera Boston.
