ABOUT

Marc Zwingelberg is principal trumpet of the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock. 
Alongside his permanent position, he regularly appears as guest principal trumpet with leading orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Staatskapelle Dresden, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Frankfurt Radio Symphony, Bamberg Symphony, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, and the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra.

Zwingelberg is a prizewinner at international competitions, including the 3rd prize at the Andrejs Jurjāns International Brass Competition (Latvia) and a special prize at the Händel Competition of the Händel-Gesellschaft Karlsruhe for his piccolo trumpet performance.

Alongside his orchestral work, Zwingelberg maintains an active international teaching profile, with regular invitations for masterclasses, residencies, and specialized trumpet instruction at universities and professional institutions across Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the United States.

He earned his Bachelor of Music from the Hochschule für Musik Detmold and completed his Master of Music at the Hochschule für Musik Lübeck. Since August 2025, he has been pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) at The University of Texas at Austin, studying with Caleb Hudson.
