
Teaching Assistant in Collaborative Piano
Julie (Jisun) Park is an active collaborative pianist and graduate teaching assistant at The University of Texas at Austin, where she studies Colette Valentine. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in collaborative piano (expected 2027), after completing her Master of Music in collaborative piano at UT Austin in 2024. She previously earned her Bachelor of Music in piano Pprformance from Murray State University, where she studied with Meeyoun Park.
Julie is currently engaged in a wide range of collaborative work at UT Austin, performing regularly for lessons, rehearsals, studio recitals, and degree recitals with both vocalists and instrumentalists. She has also served as a teaching assistant for collaborative piano literature, and from 2022–2023 collaborated with the Treble Chorus as pianist. Earlier in her career, she worked as staff pianist for NATS and the Vocal Art Summer Camp, and performed extensively with wind, jazz, and choral ensembles.
In addition to her academic commitments, she serves as the music minister at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Austin, where she directs the choir and performs on both piano and organ. Her artistry has been recognized with awards such as the Kentucky Music Teachers Association Bluegrass Competition Young Artist Award. Fluent in English and Korean, Julie is deeply dedicated to the art of collaboration, supporting singers and instrumentalists across diverse performance settings
