
Associate Director of Choral Activities
Dr. Holly Dalrymple is the associate director of choral activities at The University of Texas at Austin. She earned a doctorate in choral conducting with a related field in voice performance from the University of North Texas, a master’s degree in choral conducting from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Music Education from Texas State University.
Dalrymple served as the director of choral activities at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, WY (2013-2022) and Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX (2022-2024). Her teaching focuses on the preparation of future choral music educators. As a mentor to graduate students, Dalrymple teaches seminars on topics of gender in music, women in music, and student teacher supervision. She began her teaching career in the public-school classroom at Bowman Middle School in Plano, TX, Richardson Junior High and Berkner High School in Richardson, TX, and Connally High School in Pflugerville, TX.
While at University of Wyoming, the Bel Canto Treble Choir received performance invitations from the Wyoming Music Educators Association and the American Choral Directors Northwest conference in Portland, OR. Bel Canto was featured in the PBS Documentary, The State of Equality: Women Get the Vote.
Dalrymple has conducted region and honor choirs across the country and is an active clinician in Texas choral classrooms. In her role as festival clinician, Dalrymple prioritizes sound production, vocal pedagogy, literacy, and community. She has been an invited guest to several artist residencies in the United States and abroad.
Dalrymple is committed to bringing high quality singing experiences to the broader community, by teaching literacy and musicianship skills that establish musical independence. She has conducted several civic ensembles, and currently conducts the Damenchor of the Austin Saengerrunde, the oldest singing society in Texas, established in 1876 by German immigrants.
