ABOUT

Anna Piatigorsky has recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the program in British, Irish, and Empire studies at The University of Texas at Austin. He Ph.D. dissertation, ‘“Hands Across the Sea”: The Local Music Exam in the Contested Space of the British Empire,’ presented a 150-year exploration of the impact of exams on music education across the British world. Anna’s research interests span the music of the Belle Époque, musical modernism in early twentieth-century Britain, and the pedagogy of classical music.
