Communications Specialist
A journalist by training, Riane tells stories for the Butler School of Music.
Riane was born and raised in Miami to Cuban and Chilean families. She moved to Austin in 2019 to pursue her journalism career. She's worked for publications like The Texas Tribune and the Austin-American Statesman. Most recently, she served as the first Hays County reporter for KUT News, Austin’s NPR station. She studied journalism at Emerson College in Boston.
In her free time, Riane loves shooting film photography, salsa dancing, and tending to her plot at her local community garden.
