Maggart has taught at California State - Northridge, The Colburn School, Mount Saint Mary’s University, the University of Southern California, and KM Music Conservatory in India. Her research primarily focuses on twentieth-century and contemporary American music, in particular serial aesthetics, musical borrowing, identity and the boundaries between modernism and postmodern. Maggart has also worked for the Piatigorsky Archives as the resident musicologist and served as a researcher for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra’s educational series, “Inside the Music.”
