Education BA, The University of Texas at Austin

About As a professional songwriter, singer, and keys player, LiVolsi is a proud Butler School of Music alumna. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in music business; her instrument was voice and she minored in business foundations through the MSI program. Like most voice students, LiVolsi started her professional career singing in churches. In her sophomore year she became a college intern-turned-employee on the Music Festival Advancement Team at SXSW. After graduation, LiVolsi started playing music full time through residencies, private gigs, and studio work. She also led worship for many years at various Austin-based churches.

Career highlights include playing SXSW and CMJ, winning an Austin songwriter of the year award, co-writing in Nashville, music directing for an American Idol finalist on a national tour, recording at Sam Phillips’s studio in Memphis with the microphone Elvis Presley used for “That’s Alright (Mama)," and Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show tweeting her single (who knew a tweet could be so cool?). LiVolsi is excited to join the advising staff because she knows the positive impact her UT education had on her path and career. She enjoys supporting young musicians in achieving their individual goals and celebrates their accomplishments. When not working or creating music, LiVolsi loves to walk with her dog, Elvis (clearly, she’s a fan of 'The King'), cook mediocre meals, and binge-watch Youtube.
