The nationally recognized Sarah and Ernest Butler Opera Center (BOC) is devoted to the development of graduate students interested in operatic performance. Graduate degrees are offered in opera with emphasis in voice, opera directing and opera coaching. Students are selected by audition for participation in any of the center's activities. The BOC presents three fully produced main stage production each academic year (October, February, April) in Texas Performing Arts' McCullough Theatre. Recent BOC productions include the chamber orchestration premiere of La hija de Rapaccini by Daniel Catan, premiere of New York Stories by Daron Hagen, The Consul by Menotti and Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss.
