A concert for the Initiative to Educate Afghan Women

Works by Bach, McMichael, Charke, Bizet, Clarke, Lennon/McCartney, Catan and more

The flute studio at the University of Texas at Austin in combination with the Creative Flutist Service Ensemble will be performing a benefit concert for The Initiative to Educate Afghan Women. The Flute studio at the University of Texas at Austin is comprised of students representing 6 different states and 3 different continents, each of us pursuing Bachelor's, Master's, Artist's or Doctoral degrees. The Creative Flutist Service Ensemble is a high school flute studio led by Jenniffer Keeney, a flutist and flute teacher in the Austin Area. Though we come from many different backgrounds, we are united by the common goal of enriching lives through music. The arts have the power to speak to the human condition and unite audiences under a universal purpose. At the heart of this particular organization is the belief that education is key to any sustainable future. We believe education should be a basic inalienable right for all human beings. For this reason, we have chosen to raise funds for The Initiative to Educate Afghan Women. Please consider donating to this important initiative.
